The Southern European Veterinary Conference (SEVC) is the brainchild of two major veterinary associations: AVEPA (Spanish Small Animal Association) and the NAVC (North American Veterinary Conference). The AVEPA’s annual National Congress has been running for the past 40 years and is now the second largest veterinary congress in Europe with over 2,000 veterinary participants. The NAVC, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, produces the highly respected NAVC Conference. The Conference, held in Orlando each year, has grown to be the largest veterinary meeting in the world with more than 16,000 registrants in 2008.

The SEVC is aimed at European veterinarians, with the main intended audience being practitioners in canine, feline, equine and other companion animal practice. The SEVC will feature multidisciplinary lectures as well as Master classes, practical “hands on” laboratories and workshops from top international speakers on practical and contemporary issues. The official languages at SEVC are English and Spanish although simultaneous translation in other languages will be also provided. The conference is held in Barcelona. On the coast, this modern scenic European city is highly accessible, has modern facilities with a vibrant culture and is blessed with a great Mediterranean climate providing mild temperatures in October. The conference will be held at the Barcelona International Convention Center (CCIB), the largest convention center in southern Europe. The Autonomous University of Barcelona will also contribute the use of its modern veterinary facilities as well as staff to support the various SEVC wet labs and workshops that will be conducted during the conference. Today, the veterinary practitioner wants to attend a Conference which is well organized, fun and full of the latest and best information that is of practical use for veterinary clinicians. The SEVC will fulfill these principals.
