CurrencySpain uses the Euro (€), wich circulates in denominations of € 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 notes and 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents or 1€ and 2€ coins. Money can be changed at the city's banks and savings banks, as well as exchange booths located in the city centre, numerous tourist sites, and the main railway and bus stations, Sants and Barcelona Nord. Banks are open Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Savings banks are also open Thursday afternoons, except during the summer. The exchange booths are open every day in the city and until 10p.m. at the railway and bus stations. |
