The Southern European Veterinary Conference-SEVC invites veterinarians to submit abstracts either as FREE COMMUNICATIONS relating to clinical research, both prospective and retrospective, or CASE REPORTS that present new or alternative information of interest to small animal or exotic animal clinicians. Case reports should be based on three or more clinical cases of the same disease. All abstracts must be presented in poster format. Original work only will be accepted. * BIBLIOGRAPHY FORMATS Any statement that is made in the article and that does not reveal the results in itself, must be accompanied by a corresponding bibliographic quot. These references will be put in order at the end of the article according to how they appeared in the text (not alphabetically) and they’ll receive a consecutive number according to their order of appearance. These numbers will be included in the text in superscript. Examples of referencesMagazines: Always name all authors if less than six. If more, name the first three then add et al. 4. Note: Digital Photographs should be presented preferably in TIFF, JPG or EPS format. In all cases the minimum resolution should be 300 dpi. The main author will receive automatic confirmation that the communication has been received from the secretary with an assignment code that identifies the corresponding author his/her essay and is to be used when making any enquiries. EVALUATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE WORKOnce the summaries have been received, they will be evaluated by members of the AVEPA Scientific Committee or other expert evaluators using only the assignment code of the essay; never with the name and personal details of the author. Once the summaries have been evaluated, the authors will be informed as to whether or not their essay has been accepted within 8 weeks after the acceptance deadline. In some cases, or when considered necessary, authors will be asked to make modifications or corrections to some aspects of their poster. This means that the newly revised poster will have to be resubmitted, with new deadlines to be specified to each author. Summaries received after this date will not be included in the congress programme. 3. REGISTRATION FOR THE SEVC 2013 CONFERENCEOnce an essay has been accepted its main author can and indeed must register for the SEVC13 - AVEPA National Congress before the 8th of September 2013. Anyone whose open topic presentation has been accepted and who have not registered by the above mentioned date will lose the option to present their work in any format whatsoever. The main author presenting an open topic presentation at the SEVC13 - AVEPA National Congress will have a special inscription rate, ONLY and IF the posting have been accepted. PRESENTATION OF THE WORK DURING THE CONFERENCEFree Communication and Case Report studies accepted are to be presented in POSTER FORMAT during the conference and will be exhibited throughout the congress, from 17-19 October, 2013 at the Fira Barcelona. PRESENTATION OF THE POSTERThe main author of the essay must be present in front of the poster on 18 October, 2013 from 18:30 to 19:45. We recommended making A4 copies of the poster to be available for distribution to interested parties and to the evaluators. The presentation of the poster is an indispensable condition for acceptance the poster. In case it is not presented, any communication of the author will be accepted in the next 2 editions. TAKEN DOWN OF THE POSTERPosters are to be taken down on 19 October, 2013, from 7:00pm onwards. Posters that have not been removed by 9pm will be presumed abandoned and the SEVC organization will not be held responsible for returning them to the authors. 5. AWARDS FOR BEST FREE COMMUNICATION, BEST CASE REPORT AND RECENT GRADUATE PRESENTATIONPosters will be awarded prizes in three categories:

A jury will then evaluate the three highest scoring posters in the three categories and choose a winner in each category. Three well-known veterinarians will be invited by the Scientific Committee AVEPA to make up the jury, which will be changed each year. Free Communications coordinators will not be jurors. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to declare any category void or to award additional prizes. Winners will receive a check for 500€ and a certificate. All winners will be notified before the Conference. AWARD CEREMONYThe AVEPA –SEVC Scientific Committee will award the prizes at the Opening Ceremony. We encourage authors to be present during the event or otherwise send a person to represent them. 6. PUBLICATION OF THE WORKAll work accepted and entered for competition will be included in the CD of Congress material to be handed out to all congress attendees. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to publish presentations in the official AVEPA magazine, “Clínica Veterinaria de Pequeños Animales" or on the AVEPA Website, after their presentation at the Congress. The coordinator of the AVEPA magazine, Clinica Veterinaria de Pequeños Animales, will select some abstracts accepted by the SEVC for publication. The coordinator may request that authors, if they wish, expand the content of their abstract before it is reviewed and published
